Joobin Bekhrad

In addition to his work in strategic communication for commercial clients and the European Commission, Joobin has an extensive background in journalism. He has written for such publications as The New York Times, The Washington Post, the BBC, CNN, The Guardian, The Financial Times, GQ, Forbes, and The Economist, amongst many such others, and, between 2012 and 2018, creatively directed and edited the acclaimed arts review Reorient. He is also the author of numerous books.

Icons like John Malkovich, Ronnie Wood, Kenzo Takada, John Varvatos, and Salma Hayek have spoken with Joobin for his stories, and he has himself been the subject of interviews with publications including Monocle, The Art Newspaper, and Newsweek, which referred to him as a ‘leading figure in the art world’ in 2015.

As regards his education, Joobin holds a BBA from the Schulich School of Business (York University), an MSc in Management from the Cass Business School (City, University of London), and an MS in Strategic Communication from Columbia University.

After running his own architecture and civil engineering firm (and, later, wealth advisory practice), Shahdad turned his attention to international business. For over a decade, he managed a cosmeceutical and image-enhancement company in Dubai, and for nearly another decade served high-net-worth individuals as the owner of a contemporary art consultancy.

Lanceis aside, Shahdad provides management consulting to various organisations. He holds degrees in architecture and civil engineering from Washington University and the University of Portland, respectively.
